Apple posted the third version of the iPhone 3.0 Beta for developers to download and play. The reports are that the beta offers speed increases, Spotlight search and save minor changes for MMS on the German networks. It seems that Apple is pushing the Betas much faster than usual. It was about two weeks since the last beta, and two weeks before that was the first 3.0 Beta.
The 2.0 beta software is much slower to roll out, with more than two weeks between the beta versions. At this rate we can see a few more beta releases before 8 WWDC in June, where the expectation is that the iPhone and iPod touch 3.0 software is available to the public.
Apple has the iPhone 3.0 software update in March at a small meeting at the Apple Town Hall. The iPhone 3.0 software includes many updates, including Cut, Copy and Paste, MMS, Spotlight search, and Push Notification API for developers to use in their applications, as well as many other additions.
