Research in Motion has bought specialist Gist address book and will soon be its technology in its BlackBerry devices. The Waterloo, Ontario-based company has no details of the acquisition, but Gist said that the move means its products to millions of BlackBerry users would.
“We are delighted to Yeast team and RIM join their expertise to customers with contextualized, streamlined and consolidated statement of information about their contacts with the BlackBerry platform to bring, ” said Alan Brenner, senior vice president of RIM’s BlackBerry platform.
Based in Seattle, Yeast aggregates contacts via email and social networks, among other sources. Counts and prioritize contacts on the frequency and timing of messaging-based. Another service allows users to contact tweets and Facebook posts to make by adding another layer of the full functionality of the messaging client.
